Traditional Worship
Services
Like other Christian movements, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has
always held that worship services should include the prayers of God's people,
the singing of hymns and spiritual songs, holy communion, an offering, and a
lesson from God's Word. Our worship can best be described as traditional,
liturgical, and rooted in the ancient hymns and prayers of Christ's
Church. We believe that the early Disciples met for the purpose of
breaking bread and sharing a cup so that they would continually remember the
death, burial, and resurrection of Christ; therefore, the Lord's Supper is the
central, defining act of any worship service at First Christian Church and the
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). We welcome everyone to the Lord's
Table as God has welcomed us.
