Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Frank Chlastak began work as Senior Minister of First Christian Church, Poplar Bluff, MO, on Sunday September 13, 2015.  He is a graduate of Northeast Louisiana University and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. 

Rev. Chlastak has served congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Louisiana, Arkansas, Virginia, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

Pastor Chlastak believes that God's love in Christ extends to all people, and that ours should also. 

In his preaching he is more concerned with the practical application of the Christian faith to the struggles of daily life than with pure doctrine. 

He has a passion for peace and justice issues and believes Christians should be active in working to bring about a more just and loving society.

"I believe that God has called me into ministry to help the church, and the people within a particular congregation, to be all that God has created them to be. Much of my ministry is a ministry of encouragement and equipping, helping people discover and develop their gifts and then using those gifts to God’s glory.”

In the work in Poplar Bluff, he will be in the office most mornings from 9 a.m. until Noon.

He will also be available for special needs and home and hospital visits.
